Roderick L. Ireland, Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, speaks to legal firms
and attornies in the Hall of Flags at the Massachusetts State House during the 14th annual Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid held by the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation and the Massachusetts Equal Justice Coalition. Law firms provide their lawyers to represent poor clients for free "pro bono", and help with many issues including housing, health care, domestic abuse and more. After the meeting those in attendance visit legislators in the State House to call their attention to the need to keep Legal Aid for the poor properly funded.
